My Week in Fitness 1/1/12 - 1/7/12

This is the first in a series of posts in which I'll share with you what I've been doing and what I've learned about fitness every week.  This is a late post for the week of 1/1/12 - 1/7/12.

First off, I started a Beachbody Challenge group on the 2nd.  I decided to get a few people to join a challenge group committed to doing P90X and getting in shape for the new year.  Some people dropped out before we even started but the others have been doing a great job.  We post daily in a private Facebook group and let each other know how the workout went and how we are feeling.  I love having a small group of people that I can talk to who are sharing the same fitness journey as I am.  I have experimented with P90X in the past but hadn't really kept to a schedule, partly due to my odd work schedule.  Having others to keep me accountable keeps me on track and motivated.  I would love to have a few more people join the group, if you are interested email me.

I'm doing a P90X / Insanity hybrid program that is listed on the Team Beachbody website.  The main difference is replacing the cardio P90X workouts with similar Insanity workouts.  So far I'm on track and haven't missed a workout.  I did postpone one for a day because we went camping over the weekend but I did it as soon as we got back home Sunday night.  I've also been experimenting with nutrition and supplements while doing this program and you can read more about that here.
